Poor Law

UNDER Article 155 of the Revised Penal Code,

“The act of firing a gun in the air is considered a case of alarm and scandal is only punishable by a 30-day imprisonment or a P200 fine.”

Meanwhile, in Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Law,

“The unlawful acquisition, possession of firearms and ammunition shall be penalized with prision mayor (six years and one day to 12 years in prison) to reclusion perpetua (maximum of 40 years’ imprisonment) depending on the circumstances of the offense.”
